BEYOND SIGHT (2009)
Riika Saulite (27) is born blind and has never been able to see.
Still, in that darkness, she describes the most beautiful
pictures and visions full of light.
I spent six months with Riika getting to know her and her world.
Through long talks, silence, photography and a new friendship,
I slowly started to understand fragments of her visual world.
She let me in and explained me her pictures and I promised
I would create them for her.
This photo project is the story of a young, blind and
brave woman, but most of all, it is the story of a world
beyond sight.
